ABOUT ME

My name is Colton Anderson and I'm a recent undergraduate student at the University of Washington in the Mechanical Engineering department.  I enjoy all aspects of designing a part and taking it through the research and development phase and into the prototyping phase.  One of my favorite things to do is manufacture parts in the machine shop using a CNC mill and/or lathe.

I joined the Formula SAE team my Sophomore year of college and it has been the best decision I have made in my entire life.  It has been such a unique hands on experience outside of the classroom and has allowed me to become a more practical and well versed engineer.  Being on the Formula SAE team has allowed me to gain two internships as a mechanical engineering intern.  In between Sophomore and Junior year I worked at Mizuho OSI in Union City, CA where they design and manufacture medical tables for surgeries.  It was a great company to work for because I got to see what it was like working in industry as a mechanical engineer.  I enjoyed working at a company that had their R&D as well as the manufacturing facility all in house and that got me very interested in manufacturing.

The next summer I worked at Intuitive Surgical in Sunnyvale, CA where they design and manufacture surgical robot systems for surgeries.  I worked in the New Product Introduction group and designed fixtures and assemblies for prototype surgical instruments.

My website portfolio is to show viewers the types of projects I have been affiliated with.
